Christiania residents close pusher street to fight drug dealing and criminality [Photos]

Self autonomous declared zone in central Copenhagen - Freetown Christiania commune - decided yesterday, 22nd of May 2018, to fence off the area known as 'Pusher Street', where cannabis is usually sold. All entrances to the area were closed off with a two-metre high black fence. Signs are placed on the fences saying that “Pusher Street will be closed for the next couple of days. 16th of May 2018 ten activists in Smolensk went to court hearing to support their fellow activist Georgy Nekrasov who was prosecuted because he participated in the anti-corruption demonstration on 5th of May. During the court hearing, the judge decided to postpone a trial on the merits to 22nd of May. After the hearing an officer of the anti-extremism center (one of the police division) Sergey Nikolaev came to the group of activists and started in the random order giving them summons, where it was stated that they must come to the police station for investigation actions on 17th of May.According to one of the activist, Alexei Lavrinenkov, the officer started to fill out those summons right there and he wrote down names of five of the activists on blanks. Greeks rally in disapproval for Turkish detention of national guards [Photos]

Hundreds protested in Athens on Sunday in national solidarity with Greek soldiers detained by Turkey after crossing the border back in March, 2018. The soldiers were detained after tresspassing into Turkey in bad weather in a heavily forested frontier region.
