IAAF chief Sebastian Lord Coe has been cleared of misleading British lawmakers about his knowledge of a Russian doping scandal.
The IAAF’s ethics board said it closed the investigation because no evidence showed “any realistic prospect that any disciplinary case could be established.”
While Coe told the committee he was unaware of 'specific allegations' about the corruption of anti-doping systems in Russia until he watched a revelatory documentary which aired on the German TV channel ARD in December 2014, the BBC and this newspaper then revealed he had been sent an email by David Bedford detailing the Liliya Shobukhova case in August of that year.
