Access to free information on World Wide Web is not something Cubans take for granted. In order to post on social media, use e-mails or read the news online, Cubans must buy a 1$ Internet access card from ECTSA (the centralised state-run telecommunications company) and find a public outdoors hot spot. But last night, for about 9 hours, this reality has changed: on Wednesday, Cuban Government tested wireless net directly on mobile phones nationwide. IndieFrame reporter forced by Police to stop documenting Romanian protests

10.08.2018 - IndieFrame reporter Ana Maria Gheorghe was forced to leave the area where riot police later sprayed tear gas against protesters and was threatened to be arrested if she keeps filming. Ana had an IndieFrame press accreditation with her ID no. as a reporter. She explains through messenger audio how she was threatened and her rights were trespassed on the public space in Piata Victoriei, Bucharest. Several journalists were ill treated during Romanian protests against Government and some were beaten, including German media Deutsche Welle and OTS correspondents. Violent clashes between police and protesters in Romania reported by citizens on IndieFrame

Tens of thousands of protesters rallied against the ruling Social Democrat (PSD) government on Friday in cities across Romania and the capital Bucharest where riot police fired tear gas into the crowd and over 450 citizens needed medical attention.
