by Ioan Pupila 4 months ago

Denmark’s Parliament enacted the ban in May 2018, joining France, Belgium, Nederlands and other Western EU countries in what some say is upholding secular and democratic values.Demonstration took place in Nørrebro - most famous multi-cultural quarters of Danish capital - where majority of islamic population lives. The demo was supported by feminist groups and non-muslim locals, who joined to show their support for freedom of expression concerning choice of clothing. Muslim women hold 'Hands off my Niquab' sign in Red Square, Nørrebro - Copenhagen |Photo: Lars C. Devastation left behind by the Greek Wildfires

by Newsroom 4 months ago

It now appears that 200 people have been injured and 80 have lost their lives in the Greek wildfires. The fires have been extinguished however, the number of casualties is expected to grow as rescue teams scour the area. What caused the Fire?It is still unclear how the fires started, in conditions as hot as the 37 degrees C that Greece has experienced recently it doesn’t take much more than a scrap of metal, a bolt of lightning or a stray lit cigarette to start a raging fire. It has been questioned whether the fire was started deliberately, potentially with the malicious intent of looting houses whilst locals flee the area. An investigation is underway with drones being used to trace the path of the fires back to their sources to rule out foul play. Burnt car in Mati, Greece, a

Gay Pride is here, well it's everywhere...

by Newsroom 4 months ago

This week alone there are 14 major LGBT gatherings in Germany, Italy, Northern Ireland, the UK, Sweden and the Faroe Islands  and more than 50 more before the end of September. It all started in back in the 50's and 60s with groups forming to stand up and fight against their lack of human rights, then in 1969 the Manhattan Police Force unwittingly started what is now considered one of the most important events leading to modern LGBT pride. A raid by police on the Stone Wall Inn, a renowned gay bar in the local area, caused a sudden and violent confrontation with the Police. The crowd that gathered outside the Inn became so large and vocal
